Child's Party in the summer- Weekday? YES OR NO

Would you do or attend a child's party on a weekday if it was in the summer? OR should I stick to a weekend.

I know obviously I would have to consider working moms.

Most of the kids that would attend, their moms are SAHM. I wanted to do it on her actual bday which falls on a Tuesday.
I am a PTWM and if I got an invite I would be able to go if it fell on my off day obviously. So I am confused what to do.

ETA: I am speaking about a kiddie party- like at White post Farms etc.

ETA: It seems that the issue, which I SO understand is working parents. I totally get it as I work but I do have flexibility, and if I didnt I would have a hard time attending a party on a weekday for sure.

I am going to have to consider the kids coming and if too many moms are working then I am not going to bother doing it during the week. But I do think most of them are SAHMs/ teachers with the summer off

As a corporate working Mom, I wouldn't (couldn't) do that - but, if most of the kids are with SAHMs or Teacher Moms then it would work for you -

If I knew far enough in advance, I'd probably take the day off so I could bring my son

I do it a lot in the summer w/ my friends who are teacher, and the boys friends' Moms -

They'll plan a huge play date and let us non summers off working Moms know in advance, we usually take the day to hang out -

I work full time so nope I wouldn't and even with enough notice I probably would not take off. I get limited amount of vacation time and I want to save those days for vacations of if DS is sick.

It would not be my first choice, but with advanced notice, I guess it could work. I think all the working Mom's initial reactions would be annoyance though. I know I would be annoyed initially, but then probably get over it and be glad I had an excuse to take off in the summer.

Re: Child's Party in the summer- Weekday? YES OR NO

I've been invited to bday playgroups during the middle of the week. This was part of a mom's group that is mostly SAHMs and PTWMs. This obviously would not work for working moms. These were small gatherings of 5 kids or so.

We like parties to be a family event with dads. I don't think you would get many fathers.

I definitely don't think you would get the same turnout as a weekend party.

I think it's fine, and especially in the summer, when many people have weekend plans. What time were you thinking?

If all the kids you are inviting have SAHMs then yes, I would do it on a weekday. If you want kids that have FTWMs to attend also, then I would schedule it for a weekend.

I second this. My vacation days are sacred. I use them carefully.

If you don't HAVE to have it on a weekday I would not. I am a FTWM and I would not take my DC.

Sure, why not. You will never be able to accommodate everyone's schedules.

Many kids do some form of camp or program at their preschool or town. Can you feel it out first ask the parents say I am thinking of doing x would you be willing to try for that or no? I have been asked that before.

I would go for it, especially considering that most of the parents are stay at home.

As a FTWM, if it were at a cool place (like WHite Post), with enough notice I would take the day off and take DS and make a whole day out of it.

You could do it in the late evening.

Otherwise, no.

there is a reason weekday parties are MUCH cheaper.

Child's Party in the summer- Weekday? YES OR NO

I would-I would love the option of having my kid's party on his actual bday.
just don't expect a huge turnout-but i think that is true about any day during the summer

I'm a FTWM...I would dread a weekday birthday party, even in the summer..unless I made plans to take that day off...
