Chimney lining for gas conversion?
so one estimate the guy said we need our chimney lined in order to convert--is this true bc the first guy never mentioned it? Also do you know the cost of chimney lining?

When our chimney was falling apart the guy suggested one to protect it, we have gas.

Yes. There needs to be a liner is you have the old clay ones.
I would go out and get a price separately from the conversion contractor. It will be cheaper. not by much but maybe a few hundred dollars.

Chimney lining for gas conversion?
We had to put a liner in our chimney a few years ago, when we had a chimney & boiler inspection, they said it would help the boiler run better and help with the exhaust/airflow. Ours cost $3500. Before that our burner was constantly running, and it ran much better after the liner was installed.
