Chiropractor during pregnancy
Hi everyone I was just wondering if it is okay to see a chiro during pregnancy and if so are there specific ones that specialize in pregnancy? I am so nervous that it will hurt the baby! But I have been going to the chiro for years and have back/neck/sciatic problems already. HELP!!

Re: Chiropractor during pregnancy
I went to my chiro all throughout my pregnancy with DS.... and I've been going as needed now with this pregnancy too. I just told him I was pg as soon as I found out... and he just made some changes to the way he adjusts me.

Re: Chiropractor during pregnancy
i would check with your dr first. my dr said okay but first trimester, no manual adjustments. so my chiro used another method. just make sure your chiro knows you are pregnant before you go. i am in Suffolk and see a chiro in eastern suffolk.

Re: Chiropractor during pregnancy
Ok. So I shouldnt be adjusted during the first trimester? I am seeing my OB on Thursday night and will ask her/him. I am nervous to go to the one I have been seeing so I was hoping that someone would be able to recommend someone that they have used during their pregnancy. I live in Islip. Any suggestions?

Re: Chiropractor during pregnancy
I've had back troubles since before pregnancy....and I continued to go throughout my entire pregnancy. I go for an adjustments every 3 weeks to avoid incurring any sciatic pain in my back and it's worked. But my chiropractor did begin to adjust differently after I let her know I was pregnant. I get 15 minutes of medical massage on my back prior to seeing the chiropractor - htat really helps loosen up my back. I see someone in Northport Village.

Re: Chiropractor during pregnancy
I saw my chriopractor once this trimester. He adjusted my neck and hip (lower back) I'm not scheduled for another till after my 1st trimester but I'm already looking forward to seeing him b/c I started getting sciatica and neck pain. My Dr. is in East Massapequa and does not take insurance.

Re: Chiropractor during pregnancy
I went once a week while I was pregnant, one of the best things I ever did. Never had sciatica, hardly no back pain and my pelvis was nice and open when I gave birth! Def recommend it!

Hi,
Chiropractic can definitely help with your pregnancy. I am a Chiropractor that specializes in pregnancy and pediatrics. I would be more than happy to answer any of your questions.
I come highly recommended by several childbirth educators and OB's.
My name is Dr. Adam Glassman, DC, CACCP. Please feel free to call me at (516) 829-8099. I am a sponsor of LI Families as well.

You can get adjusted throughout your pregnancy, even in your first trimester. I practice in Greenlawn, not the most convenient for you. I know someone in east islip who would be good for you. FM me if you still are looking or have questions.

Re: Chiropractor during pregnancy
Hi! I've been seeing a chiro since 14 weeks, as I started getting horrific sciatic nerve pain. The woman I go to is super gentle and is trained to do prenatal chiropractic work. Her name is Dr. Teresa Wukich and her practice is called Body Balance Healing. She does a lot of cranio sacral massage and will not adjust you unless you want to be adjusted. She'll also use a lot of other techniques if you do not feel comfortable being adjusted. Here's her website:
http://www.bodybalancehealing.com/
Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend her! I definitely wouldn't be functioning right now at 39 weeks if it wasn't for her!
Good Luck!
