Christening at house - BBQ recommendation
I am having my daughters christening in June and I was wondering if hiring someone to cater/bbq would be a good idea or not.D you think its tacky for a christening? If not do you have anyone you can recommend..

Not tacky at all - places like Guy Anthony's or Iavarone do a really nice BBQ and cost just as much as some restaurants. Everyone like BBQ food!

Re: Christening at house - BBQ recommendation
we are going with Guy Anthony's for DS' baptism in June... we didn't get their BBQ menu but have an outside menu.. we order by the tray as it is much more cost effective than ordering by the person...
What we have is a combo of hot/cold/room temp stuff but you can hire them to come with a big grill and do the BBQ

I have had regular parties catered from Iavarone and they are fabulous.

i was going to recommend Iavarone too! They are awesome and I just came across their bbq menu the other day. i thought that was a very cool idea. I think it ws round $20-$30 per person depending on what you want.

Re: Christening at house - BBQ recommendation
DH & I did this for our engagement party. It was fantastic. We used family caterers in Bohemia. They sent 2 people who bbq'd and cleaned up. They also brought the soda, water, ice, coffee, sugar, milk, etc. They bbq'd and we also got some hot dishes as well.
I think it is such a great idea for a backyard party. We had never been to a party like that before and we received compliments for months. Everyone had such a great time and loved the food.
If I remember correctly it was approx. $30pp but well worth it.
