Christening/Baby naming outfits - size question
Abby's baby naming is on November 8. She is now 8 pounds and 12 ounces and 22 inches long (up from her birth weight of 6 pounds, 3 ounces and 19.5 inches in length. She is gaining consistently and on target according to her docs. She is now 6 weeks and 2 days still wearing some 0-3 month sizes some of which are big and some of which fit her just right.
Now my question is how can I anticipate her size for her baby naming dress. I know what I would like to get for her and it is costly. I may have to order it and it may take a week or two to come in. If I buy her a dress and she outgrows it, I am stuck with it.
For those in similar situations with baby naming or Christening outfits, how did you gauge sizes in advance? Any help would be appreciated.

I think you'll still be safe with 0-3 months. Even if she gains 2 lbs, she'll probably be fine it in. Can't wait to see pics!

Re: Christening/Baby naming outfits - size question
Nov.8th is less than a month away, even if she gains 3-4lbs 0-3 should be good. Most dresses, ceremonial outfits come in 3,6,9, etc. month sizes so if you go with 3 months you should be good.

Re: Christening/Baby naming outfits - size question
See, I would order 3-6 months. I always find that things like that tend to run on the smaller side.. My son was Baptized at 3 months old and his 3-6 month outfit couldn't be buttoned, it was too small

Re: Christening/Baby naming outfits - size question
I'd order 0-3 months size. I find dresses run big in general.

Re: Christening/Baby naming outfits - size question
If she is long and lean then I would get 0-3 months if she seems to put weight on in her tummy then I would get 3-6 months. It seems to me from the adorable pictures you post of her that she is on the leaner side. DD was 3 months old for her christening and was 12.5lbs. I got her 3-6 months and it was loose on her .

Figure she will gain about 1/2 pound per week. I would ask at the store how the dress runs. i find that some clothes run smaller than others.

Yes she is long and lean. Don't know where she came from.

Re: Christening/Baby naming outfits - size question
If she's only 8lbs now I think 0-3 will still fit by November 8. DD wore 0-3 until she was about 12lbs and 4lbs is A LOT in a month, even for a newborn.
Can you try the dress on now before you order it? That's how I was able to determine DD's christening gown. The 3-6 fit perfectly in the store so I knew I had to order a larger size, and even then I was nervous that she'd grow too large but luckily she didn't. She came close though.
