Christening Donation to church and gift to Pastor HELP PLEASE!
I posted once before about this but I am still at a loss. I dont know how much to give and dont want to be "overly" generous or "cheap" either.
We are baptising DS in the methodist church. According to the information we received, it is "customary" to give a donation to the church and an "envelope" to the pastor. DS is having his own ceremony with not other children. The ceremony will last around 20 minutes but we really have the church for a total of about an hour to take pictures and such.
We were thinking of giving $100 in check to the church and $100 cash to the pastor. Does this seem right? Am I in the "ballpark?" I'm so confused

I gave $75 or $100 to the church (nothing to the pastor ~ honestly I did not even think of it ooops  ) My DS Christening was with many other children.
If I was the only child being Christened I think I might give a $100 to the church and maybe $50 to the pastor.
