Church donation for Christening?

WE booked Amelia's christening and were given an envelope for our donation to the church. This is the church we got married in and the church I have all but one of my sacraments.

What is the average donation?

We gave $100. I asked the church what most people gave and she said around $50, but it was totally up to us.

Re: Church donation for Christening?

well usually i think the godparenst do the donation, is that true, because my brother is doing it, the church suggested that the avg s 25 but we are doing 100...seemed kinda low and the lady who told us was about 90 YO so that may have to do with nit...lol

$100 for each DS and I tipped the Deacon $50 each time. He seemed very appreciative! Is that weird? We had private Baptisms and he was wonderful to work with.

I have never heard this and DH and I have 5 Godchildren between the 2 of us. Either way, its very nice of your brother

We will give either 50 or 100, I have to decide as DS's baptism is this sunday!
