Christening Gift, Is this enough or too little?
A good friend of my DH has asked him to christen his son.
We purchased a gold cross charm and chain (approx $350) and we are also giving a money gift.
If DH wasn't asked to be godfather we would have given just a money gift in the amount of $100.
Now that we bought jewelery how much should the money gift be?
Leave it at $100 or should I put more and how much?
Your opinions please. This is DH's first time doing something like this.

I think the cross plus $100 would be a very nice gift from a godparent.

I would give a $100 bond in the childs name..... I think the EEE bonds double their value in 10 years

I think it is extremely generous. Plenty.

I agree. Honestly I'd rethink giving a cross worth $350 unless you know it will get a ton of use. We bought a cross for our godchild, but a silver one. You never know if the child will get much use out of the cross, and I think maybe more money towards a bond would be more appreciated.

I think that is more than generous. We didnt even get $350 from either of DS's godparents.

As a godparent we didn't give near $350.

Re: Christening Gift, Is this enough or too little?
I didn't think we were going to spend that much on the cross and necklace but that's probably because we didn't want to buy it in childrens size.
We got a two tone 14k gold adult cross and a two tone 18'' figaro adult necklace that goes perfectly with it. It's really nice DH likes it a lot and the boy can get much more use out of it, he can wear this for his communion, confirmation pretty much I guess when he wants.
