Christina Aguilera Announces Baby Daughter's Name, Welcomes Summer Rain Rutler
She's got a name! Christina Aguilera and fiance Matt Rutler have named their daughter Summer Rain Rutler, the singer announced late on Sunday, August 17 via Twitter.
As Us Weekly reported previously, the happy couple welcomed their daughter into the world on Saturday, August 16, when Aguilera gave birth to the little girl at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre.
And barely 24 hours after the arrival of their child, proud mom Aguilera, 33, took to Twitter to share their new daughter's name with fans.
"So proud to welcome our beautiful daughter Summer Rain Rutler into the world," the Grammy winner wrote.
Us broke the news in February that Aguilera and fiance Rutler, 28, were expecting a child together. The "Beautiful" singer already has one son, Max, 6, by her first husband Jordan Bratman, but baby Summer Rain is Rutler's first child.
The happy couple announced on Valentine's Day this year that they were engaged to be married, after meeting on the set of her 2010 film Burlesque.
Aguilera has stayed out of the spotlight for most of her second pregnancy, something the new mom has relished. She tweeted in April about how excited she was for the months to come.
"So blissful in taking this time for creating all things blossoming new on the horizon...album, baby & beautiful music to come," she wrote.

Congrats to them! Can't decide if I think the name is cute or silly. But it's not that bad.

I like the name. I love crunchy names. It would be more fitting in a more bohemian/hippie family, but I still like it.

Sadly, this is the first thing that came to my mind. Summer on it's own is fine, not my style but not awful. Adding the rain kills it. Poor kid!

Exactly. Summer is a great name. Rain just makes it the scent of a laundry detergent.

Exactly. Summer is nice enough. But summer rain sounds like a joke. Winter snow. Spring sunshine.

I like the name Summer, and I think the name Rain is alright. I do not like them together. Sounds like a dryer sheet scent.
I will say that "North West" is still the #1 dumbest matchy match baby name ever.

I think that's a pretty name.
I like Rain and Summer but not together. Maybe because Season and Weather seem the same. But its not the worse name and you don't really use the Middle name. Summer Rain does sound like Douche product.
