Christmas Budget for Nieces/Nephews
So usually I have the bad habit of just buying a bunch of items and not really look at the price etc.
This needs to stop and now I need to set a budget for the kiddies I need to buy for in our families.
What is your usual range for each niece/nephew?

I have alot - 14 to be exact! We budget $20 a kid. Although we will go a little high if we need to for the older ones bc their stuff is more expensive.

We have a deal- no presents for each others kids. They get so much stuff that it isn't neccesary. We stick to birthday only .

I replied $25-50 but if I can get away with less than $25 I'm happy. DH and I have so many nieces and nephews....it gets sooooo expensive!!!

I'm in the same boat.
We have 13 nieces and nephews...most are older now.
We give all of them $40, for the younger ones that still like opening gifts we get them a small open gift along with the $40.

We have 6 nephews between the two of us and we usually budget $50 each. I told DH I think we need to cut it down to like $30.

I only have a nephew right now, so I voted $100 b/c I can't help myself. Sometimes more, sometimes less.
Although come Dec. 5 I'm going to have a niece as well!!! So I'm going to have to add Lily to my budget  She'll be spoiled as well. Clothes for girls will be my weakness.
everyone else gets a smaller budget nowadays haha

When we were younger with only two nephews, we'd go crazy. Now there's too many kids (plus our two) so I try to keep it to $30 per kid. On my side (with my cousin's kids), we actually do a secret santa and we do it on thanksgiving so that it spreads out all of the stuff they get during the season and occupies them during thanksgiving dinner

I think I spent around $150 each time the last 2 christmas's, but we only have 1 nephew...We added our dd this past christmas, and christmas 2011 we will have another nephew at least...so as the count grows I think we will start to decrease our limit.

I only have one niece and she only has me and my parents, and obviously my sister, who buy her gifts so I tend to spend about $100. For the cousins in the family I usually spend about $20-30. My friends and I have started doing Secret Santa for the kids. There got to be too many kids (probably about 12) so now we just pull one name and have a little holiday party for all of the kids.

BIL has 4 kids...we sent them each a movie ticket, so that is 5, one is young, tickets and I throw in some candy
SIL has 4 kids. these kids are down and out. we spend 50-75 a piece on them. If we don't send gifts, they won't get any.
My sister has one baby. I spent 30 last year. She is having another in 5 weeks...so probably more like 25 this year.

Usually around $50. Some years when it's been tight we've only spent $25 a piece...but generally it's around $50.

actually, im always dangerous when it comes to my niece. i never go to her house empty handed

In the past, I never really set a budget and just bought whatever I wanted for my nieces and nephews. However, 3 babies (including DS) were born this year so there are a total of 9 children on DH's side of the family. We have brought up doing a Secret Santa for the kids and I really hope everyone agrees. If we don't have one, I will probably aim to spend around $30 per child though I could see myself spending a little more on the older ones and a little less on the babies (there are 2 that will only be 3 months at Christmas).

I answered 100 bc I have only one nephew and we liketo buy himsomething really nice for christmas. If I had more I would set a much smaller budget for each one

I spend about $75 but that is because I am only buying for one but they are buying for my two boys so I try to keep things even.

I only have one niece and spend around $50 (usually a toy and clothes). If I had a niece/nephew on my side of the family I'd probably want to spend more 
But I know what you mean about budgeting for Christmas gifts for kids, it can get insane! Having a plan ahead of time will hopefully relieve some stress and last minute pricey purchases. Like I said I only have one niece, but if I'm shopping at an outlet in the summer, I'll pick up something for her too for Christmas and/or b-day time
