Christmas Card Ideas?

Okay, we tried to get a good photo of DS for our holiday card, but we have had no luck. He learned to walk recently, and standing or sitting still just isn't in his repertoire.

So, I was thinking of doing a collage of photos from him, from different points in the year, but I'm not thrilled with how that came out either.

Any tips successful photographers can share to get your little one to stand still or kind of still?

TIA-we are running out of time fast.

FM Barb to show you the collage card she did in the past. I thought it was really pretty. I know she posted it fairly recently, but can't remember what thread it was on.

I had replied to another poster that she could wrap a large box in festive paper and have her DS peek-a-boo out of it and she said it worked Chat Icon (We did it 2 years ago and my DS had a ball)...maybe somethin g like that, where you could make a game out of it- I really gor some good genuine smiles Chat Icon

I got my photo by accident- she was just playing and I threw a santa hat on her and just took it. The house was a mess so I just blacked out the background so it was just her.

Another helper- a telephoto lens! Chat Icon

My problem is DS ALWAYS blinks...he knows the flash is going to go off.
He smiles an awesome smile then BAM. He blinks or runs awayChat Icon

Sooo my MIL suggested take a pic of him looking up at the Christmas Tree.
That;s going to be my goal.
He won't even know the camera is there.
He LOVES the lights, so, hopefully I'll get a good shot.Chat Icon

The box idea is a good one, and he loves peek-a-boo. I could try playing that with him and have the camera ready.

Hmm, we aren't putting up a tree this year, but maybe we can get a photo of him at a mall or some other place looking at the tree?

He either walks away, or if he does look at the camera, he often has that deer-in-headlights look. He's fascinated with gadgets, and he just stares at it.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll give it a try. If this doesn't work by the weekend, I'm going back to the collage. Not much more time.
