Re: Christmas Eve Dessert
People seem to love my trifle.
Layer brownies, chocolate mousse, crushed heath bar (tiny bit), and cool whip. 2 layers of each in a clear bowl (I have a trifle bowl). Shaved choco or crushed Heath on top.

Re: Christmas Eve Dessert
I am making pizzelles for christmas eve (I may try the rainbow cookies too though) and this crumb cake recipe for christmas day. I found it on the food board and made it for thanksgiving - it was delicious!!
Any Duncan Hines yellow cake mix with 3 eggs and 1 1 /2 cups water. The Duncan Hines cake calls for oil DO NOT USE OIL IN THIS RECIPE!
Mix and put in large roasting pan with tin foil (Reynolds Release) and grease and flour tin foil. (Only use tin foil if you plan on transporting cake to another plate. If you plan on serving in the pan you use, no need to use the foil.
Bake 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees.
While cake is baking make crumbs
Crumb topping
3 sticks margarine (or butter) melted 3 cups flour 1 cup sugar 1 tbsp cinnamon 2 tsp vanilla extract 1/8 to ¼ tsp almond extract
Mix all ingredients until solid – when cake is done break up and sprinkle mixture over top – put back in over and bake again for another 25 minutes. Let cake cool a few minutes and sprinkle top w/confectioner’s sugar

Re: Christmas Eve Dessert
If you want to wow your guests, here is something supereasy and delicious....
Pears with a rum raisin marscapone.
Mascerate (soakj) golden raisins in your favorite rum for about 2-4 hours. Mix in marscapone cheese.
To prepare pears...melt butter and brown sugar in a saute pan and cook over low heat until butter is melted and brown sugar combine. Add pears and saute until soft. Serve hot garnished with the rum raisin marscapone.
Sorry...i don't have an exact recipe....I just cook by sight and what tastes good.
