Christmas Eve Spinoff - Recipes

I am going to make baked clams this year, anyone have a great recipe. Everyone I ask tells me they are easy to make, but nobody seems to be able to come up with their recipe!!

Oh, and if you have one for riceballs I want to make them this year too!

Re: Christmas Eve Spinoff - Recipes

my mom makes these every year and everyone loves them.

She buys the clams in a can...chopped them up in a food processor then she makes stove top stuffing and mixes the clams in there. she drizzels it with some of the clam juice and tops it with butter.

My family doesnt like the whole clams so that is why my mom chops them up. Also, she buys the aluminum clam shells to make the baked clams in.

Re: Christmas Eve Spinoff - Recipes

I have a resipe at home, but off the top of my head....

I use whole clams

combine, breadcrumbs, olive oil, some clam juice or white wine or both, little garlic, fresh parsley, chopped up cooked bacon and finely minced sauteed onion and seasonings (whatever you like) you want it like the consistency of wet sand.
scoop the clam into the breadcrums and press down to pack.
Arrange on a cookie sheet and broil, basting with a combo of some clam juice, wine and olive oil and butter....

Kind of a cross between oreganata and casino, but I don't use peppers....
