Christmas Gift For Mom
Long story short Mom has been in the hospital (you can see my posts on FHF)
Not 100% sure if she will be home for Christmas. Thinking positive, she still has 2 weeks to get better but it's going to be a LONG road.
I saw my sister this AM (Nancy6485) and we are stumped as to what to do for a gift.
Do you think a piece of jewelry resembling how strong she is, is good?
Should we wait until she comes home and get something?
Any ideas are welcome.
We are truly stumped.

I really like the jewelry idea! But if you're looking for something else...
What about a comfort item?
Maybe Ugg slippers or something like that? She can use them while she's still in the hospital and for when she gets home.

I would give the gift now but she may want to keep the jewlery at home. As for a gift she could use in the hospital, I would get her a nice robe or slippers as PP said.

i agree with the comfort items... robe/slippers/pj's... maybe a good book or 2... she'd appreciate them in the hospital or out.

I was going to suggest this. We got my mom the pink ones this year, they are adorable!

What about a gift certificate for a day of beauty from her favorite salon for when she's better. It will give her something to look forward to.
And if she's home before Christmas give her the gift early so she can be all dolled up for the Holidays.

As some who's had quite a few long hospital stays...I'd say get her a few things to keep comfy, robe, slippers, also some things to pass the time away! Crosswords, a puzzle, a few good books. Also, maybe a framed family portrait? Jewelry is nice...but I think I'd save that until she's out of the hospital.
