CIO question
So, I have a VERY good 11 month old in almost every way imaginable....great eater, slept through the night by 7 weeks....sleeps anywhere from 11-12 hrs at night...teething hasn't been bad at all....generally pretty happy...VERY active though which I guess is normal for the age...especially boys. But my question is this....he has always gone down pretty easily for naps and bedtime ...I usually have to give him a bottle and he fallls asleep in my arms and I can place him gently in the crib. So now that he is nearing his first bday I want to start eliminating bottles...the only ones I still do are for naps and bedtime....lately I've been trying to do it a little before naptime and bedtime so he doesn't "need" it to go to sleep. Unless he is asleep when I lay him in the crib...he cries like a madman....I never read any of the ferber tecniques or anything...just kindof winging it....usually I wait it out for about 20 minutes....usually he is out before then...is this too long to let him cry...is there something else i should be doing? What about when you have to put a screaming toddler down and you have a new baby...( I don't and am not pregnant but I just think about what if..) TIA
