I was steaming some vegetables and had the burner on too high so the water evaporated and the pot started smoking. Some of the outside of the pot burnt and there was a thick coat of black bubbly gook on the inside. I was able to get the black stuff out of the pot by scratching it off. But it just occurred to me that it may not be safe to use anymore? I just read an article also that the fumes can be dangerous. Worse part is I fed the veggies to my 14 month old daughter and they had a bit of a smell of burnt pot on them. Now I'm worried and am thinking of just tossing the pot.

Thoughts or suggestions???
