Circumcision Question
At what point in the hospital does this get done? My pediatrician does not practice at the hospital I am delivering at so I assume the on staff doctor will do this if requested?
Hooping to leave the hospital as soon as possible as I remember not getting much rest there at all! But with my baby, of course.

If you want it done in the hospital in NY, usually the Ob/GYn doctor does it. In NY, most pediatricians don't do it because they are not trained in surgery, and Ob/gyn doctors are. Ask your Ob.

Usually the ob/gyn does it, often the day after the birth, definitely before you leave the hospital.

The Ob did both of my boys. I actually wanted my ped to do it for the baby but the hospital said no.

The pediatrician doesnt do it the OB/GYN does b/c they are the surgeon..the ped isnt. (although Im sure there are exceptions to this) It is usually done the day after birth.

Thats exactly what I was going to say!
It was so quick too, they wheeled him out and 5 minutes later he was back and sleeping nicely!
