This is terrible. Brings back some bad memories of the early 90s...my dad worked for Citibank for 20+ years and was laid off during the recession. I spent my entire HS years observing and dealing with my parents struggle for $ and depression. Can't believe it's happening again.

My DH works in finance and he keeps telling me how bad it is, and I keep saying i know - i read the paper. He keeps saying you have no idea - people don't know how bad this is going to get- it is going to get really, really bad. everytime he comes home and talks to me, I feel like throwing up!!!

a friend of mine works for them and they just moved him over to costa rica with his family.
Because he moved from NJ to Costa Rica is it possible that he will still get laid off?

DH works for Citigroup and I am 7 weeks pregnant. This is devastating news. The only saving grace is that the cuts are going to be spread out WORLDWIDE. So, not all 50,000 cuts are in the US. Not that it's great that anyone is losing their job at all, but hopefully DH will be spared. Every time I think about it I panic...it can't be good for the baby. Good luck to all those out there working for Citi.
