civil service job question

My husband got canvas letter, it said to call for interview which he did, its tomorrow. It also said to mail bottom portion of letter by Dec 30 ...we read this letter a hundred times and never clicked..so unlike us but with holidays, the kids birthday I'm pregnant due any second everything has been so crazy

I'm so upset that we miss it, it says if not received he will not be considered, he will still go tomorrow, hoping it'll be ok...he did so much to get this far...I feel sick over it. Spoke with someone in same position he is interviewing for and they said shouldn't matter? What do you think?

Honestly, unless you signed for the letter, they can't guarentee when you received it. So you can always say you received it after the date of the letter stated. My husband works for the city and this happened to several people when he was applying.
