Classic white walking shoe in summer?

DS is now a full time walker & my mom is obsessed with getting him the old school classic white walking shoe form Stride Rite. He already has sneakers & sandals. I feel like he doesn't need them and that now with the hot weather his feet will get so hot. I know they are good for his ankles & support though. What do you think?

When we got Chelsea her first pair of shoes from Stride Rite they said their sneakers were equal to the walking shoes so we got those. They have just as much support. She has never had a problem walking.

I got josh the classics in the fall...looked so cute during the holidays with the little bells

I wouldn't purchase them for the summer, they are way too heavy for the heat IMO. I would get a good pair of walking sandals from SR and get the "classic" walking shoes in the fall. They are so adorable....nothing like the classic white walking shoe!

My mom was the same way with wanting to buy his first walking shoes from Stride Rite. We ended up getting the high sided supportive sneakers from Stride Rite. We wears them all the time. The plain white ones really aren't my style. Even though it is summer he still wears them a lot.
