Re: cleaning a black stovetop?
I always find that paper towels make everything streaky, so I use cleaner on the stove but wipe it with an old tshirt or rag,

I use cerma bryte - it's awesome!!!!!! My parents found it at Home Depot and gave me a bottle when we moved into our house. It really works wonders.

I use the same with an old tshirt instead of paper towels. If nothing has spilled over then I just use a washcloth with soap and water. I've had no problems.

Re: cleaning a black stovetop?
If its a glass top stove then you should use and glass cleaner on it. It will only streak it.
Use the Ceramabrite like another poster suggested. I used it on my stove and it gets nice and clean and shiney
get a scrubbie and a razor blade to take off the tough stuff. once the cleaner is on the stove, it works pretty good getting anything that has baked on.

Re: cleaning a black stovetop?
I use a special scrubby cleaner for the cooktop with a little yellow scrubby pad to appyly it and paper towels to wiper it off and if the stain is really bad, Dh scrapes it off with a razor blade.

Re: cleaning a black stovetop?
I used the clorox disinfecting wipes and just let them dry without wiping them and it dries shiny and non streaky.

Try this product. It really works well and leave no residue, which it's even better.
