Cleaning the humidifier
how do you clean your humidifier and how often?

I'm really really bad and embarrassed to admit it but I barely clean it. Maybe once a month. I use it 3 times a day all winter.
So let's say once a month I dump the water, run the humidifer to dry out the filter (change it if its gross), fill the bottom pan with vinegar let it sit for 20 minutes, wipe it down and rinse, put a bleach/water solution in for 20 minutes, dump and rinse (all per the instructions.)

well my instructions actually say you are supposed to dump the water and dry out the filter every day!! I just can't remember or find the time to do it.
You should do the 20 minute vinegar rinse every week and the 20 minute vinegar and bleach/water solution once a month.
Sometimes if you go on the manufacturers website you can download the instructions.
