Cleaning Vera Bradley Bag - particularly the base?
Lucky me spilled soda all over the inside of my VB bag. I removed the inside base and washed the bag in my washing machine. But...how do I clean the base? There's no instructions 
It looks like cloth wrapped around cardboard, and I'm not sure if it's even salvageable.

I know with my diaper bag, you can take the cardboard out and throw the whole bag in the washing machine/dryer.

Can you take the cardboard base out and just throw it out? I took mine out because I hated it - try it without it...

I guess I'll try it without the base. Thanks! I was secretly hoping there was a way to save the cardboard. The rest of it washed beautifully though!

i spilled a formula bottle in my diaper bag MONTHS ago - i ended up taking the cardboard out and tracing it on to a cardboard box. I slid the piece of cardboard box into the fabric sleeve and VOILA, new base.

I didn't even realize that the cardboard slid out and that it was in a sleeve Now I feel dumb! Thanks for the cardboard idea!
