Clear or multi-colored lights on your xmas tree?

I don't know why I can't choose! I love the look of the clear lights, but something about the multi-colored lights is just more 'Christmas' to me.

I use multi lights for everything. The only thing that I have that has white lights are pre-lit pathway trees.

-clear on our dining room tree

And i'm pushing for multi-colored lights outdoors (DH wants white.) I especially love multi-colored lights when there's snow on them. :D

Multi - hands down.

Love multi - I agree with you - totally reminds me of Christmas. I equate clear lights with stuffiness for some reason. Like the whole tree has to be decorated just so. Chat Icon Weird.

I don't like white lights outside or on a christmas tree. For me, it is not festive enough. And DS loves to look at all the colored lights.

I like white lights only. DH likes multicolored lights. Last year I won when it came to decorating our tree in the apartment. It will be a whole new battle once we have our house!

We do multi color on our tree. I love multi color lights.

However, I like white lights outside.

We did some white lights outside mixed in with some red candy canes at the moment.

clear outside and multi inside. DH an dI couldn't agree - so we compromised. Outside will be more "winter wonderland" and inside will be fun and colorful.

Clear outside and on the tree. I feel like it's more sophisticated.

Re: Clear or multi-colored lights on your xmas tree?

for the longest time I have always used color lights only on my tree but for some reason this yr I wanted cleaer so I did. At 1st I wasn't that thrilled but by the end of the night I was actually very happy with the change.

Re: Clear or multi-colored lights on your xmas tree?

we have a pre-lit tree that has both, and we can use them together or, turn one set off and just have multi or clear. I like that we can change it just using the remote. Outside, for some reason we really use only clear.
