clep exam
hey all- hoping i can get some help
i took french from 6th grade through high school and for one semester in college.
can i take a clep exam?

I've taken a few CLEP Exams.
Do you want to take the French Language CLEP?
What for? To tranfer to a university?

Hey there-
i wanted to take the clep exam so i can move myself up the payroll scale at work. if i took the test and did well, id get 12 extra credits above my masters degree.
anyway, i called the salary differential department, and they said i couldnt take the exam after all, because i took 1 lousy french class in college

maybe you could take it in a different subject if you can't do it in French? I took a biology clep exam when I was in college and did well enough to earn 6 credits. All I did was study my younger brother's Biology Regents review book for a couple of weeks. I'm pretty sure that it's offered for many different subjects, so with a little studying, you might be able to pass. Good luck!

Wow! I thought CLEP exams had no real pre-requisites. Perhaps for them to count for pay grades they do.
I walked into a CLEP for Humanties, English, Speech, Spanish and College Algebra.
I have also taken a few Dantes tests.
I took them to avoid having to pay for the course and take the course altogether. They are offered for free at my job with no real punishment if you fail so I literally took one every week. Didn't pass them all but some of them counted.

just wanna stomp and pout about not being able to take the french clep exam, because i took 1 french class in college...i really think i wouldve gotten 12 credits for it! :(
so, im thinking about taking the biology clep exam. really, its the only other one that i know anything about... someone mentioned grabbing a regents review book- they have those at the library, right? or borders?
has anyone taken the clep in bio? tell me its not hard, please! and how many credits did you get for it? how many Could you get for it?

What about Humanities? It's 6 credits and a combination of music, art and literature.
