OK - who wants to help me study for my exam? Next topic on bottom - MUSIC!!!!!
Everyday, I will post the subject I am reading up on and studying - if its something you are knowledgeable in, come on in, and we will chat about it - I'll ask questions, and you will share whatever you know - I figured since I retain so much info from this board, we'll put it to some good use....
Its multi-subject, so it runs the gamut from math, social studies, history, science, english, etc.....
anyone interested?

Studying sounds like fun when someone else has to do it!
I'll help --if I know anything!

I could totally rock that look. However I don't think my co-worker would appreciate that during our training sessions

ok - this is what I'm reviewing right now -
Distinguishing between physical and chemical properties of matter, and between physical and chemicakl changes in matter
distinguishing among forms of energy and indentifying transformations of energy in everyday life

Dancing and working out - I'm sure there are a lot of examples there!
also, playing with my baby! Anythign related to the chemical properties of poop, and I might relate....

Physical changes are changes that do not change the properties of an object - like if you cut a sheet of paper, you have two pieces of paper, but they are both still paper.
A chemical change actually alters the substance. For example if you burn a sheet of paper, afterwards you have ashes, which is not paper anymore.
Energy transformations: heat, electrical, chemical, light, mechanical.

OK
The physical and chemical changes of matter when feeding a baby Tak ean apple & cut it up. That is a physical change of matter. No chemical bonds are broken. The matter is still an apple. Take frozen breast milk and warm it up. That is a physical change of matter. Feed Cailen the apple and milk. Enzymes in his body break chemical bonds to digest the food. The food comes out as vomit or poop. That is a chemical change of matter.
Hope this helps

Re: OK - who wants to help me study for my exam? (Not teacher related!!) - today's topic - SCIENCE!
OK - here is a question on the practice exam that I just don't get - maybe you can help me figure it out?
In a unti on forces, students slide a wooden block down an inclined ramp and measure the distance the block travels after it reaches the level surface. The students then repeat the experiment with first one, then two, and then finally three thin sheets of lead attached to the top of the block.
which of the following statements most accurately summarizes the likely results of the experiment:
A. the heavier blocks will travel a longer distance because the velocity at which an object falls increases as the object's mass sincreases
B.the heavier blocks will travel a shorter distance because the frictional force between an object and a surface increases as the object's mass increases
C. the heavier blocks will travel a longer distance because the gravitational attraction between the earth and an object increases as the object's mass increases
D. the heavier blocks will travel a shorter distance because the wind resistance of the surrounding air to the movement of an object increases as the object's mass increases
I have the answer but I won't give it to you yet - want to se ehow you answer and why -
I wish I didnt just type all of that....

I believe it has to do with the gravitational pull and air resistance. A heavier object will travel faster. It also has to do with simple machines since it is on a ramp.

I think I misunderstood the question. Is it asking how far it will travel once it is on a leveled surface and has gone down the ramp? If so then I change my answer to B.

I'm guessing b.
My logic is this, if i go down a slide, I will go further than if I go down a slide holding a bug weight, because the friction increases as I weigh more.
