actually, I don't feel this way either.
I think on both sides, it's not the "norm" in Hollywood, but a heavy famous MAN is far more likely to have a lesser known or not famous "good looking" partner (even though I hate to phrase it that way since heavy or thin and good looking are not mutually in/exclusive) than it is to have a famous MAN that is considered "good looking" with a woman who is heavy.
MY surprise at least, was more on the "idea' than of what she actually looks like.
though it does go to show, we always lament and say how if we had the money we'd get a nutritionist/personal trainer....clearly there is more to it than that.
I think it goes way past Hollywood.
When I had been heavy, my ex was about 40 pounds lighter than I was and 7 inches taller. We got looks and whispers whereever we went and it was far from paranoia and a poor body image. Now, I am the one in the relationship who is significantly smaller than her SO, and nobody cares. No looks and no comments. It is just accepted.
