Clomid & OB/GYN - Curious?

I'm seeing an RE while on Clomid and being closely monitored. My OB/GYN had offered to put me on Clomid but I declined and decided to go straight to a RE. Does an OB/GYN monitor you as closely? The reason that I am asking is because I have to do an Ovidrel shot tonight to trigger ovulation. Would an OB/GYN do that? I'm thinking no. It's kind of scary that my folicles could have gotten so huge w/o the OB/GYN paying close attention.

some ob/gyn do monitoring some dont. but no one monitors blood and sono as closely as an RE. an ob/gyn prob wouldnt do a trigger but some might. just because your RE wants you to trigger doesnt mean that your follies wouldve gotten too big and you wouldnt have ovulated on your own without monitoring. trigger just guarantees that you ovulate within 36 hours of the injection.

My OBGYN is going to do a sono to check if the follies were ready and tell me when to do the trigger. I might end up being followed by the RE, but I'm not sure what their plan is.

Wasted 7 months being improperly monitored by an OB on Clomid with timed BD...Left there and got a BFP after my 3rd Clomid/IUI with an RE ...

He did not give me proper sonos, never sent me for an HSG to make sure my tubes were even clear, never sent DH for a SA, never told me that Clomid had a CM drying effect and that it can thin out the lining over time...So many things...

I am now pg with #3 by my RE and feel very strongly about being seen by one for infertility issues over an OB...They are the experts (getting down off my now ) I just wish someone had led me correctly so I feel like its my public duty to spread the word
