Clomid 1st????
I just got back from the "game plan" visit w. my RE (after all of our tests came out 100% normal)
Isnt it the norm to now try clomid for a couple months or just jump right into clomid w/artificial insemination?
I asked him to please let me try clomid for 2 months before invasive and many dr visits with artificial inseminatiom but he told me no. . . . .
isnt it ok to try clomid solo 1st?
why not? Please let me know your feelings on this.

im not sure. i know that my doctor let me use clomid without an IUI....i guess unless there is anotherr problem like male inertility that he would suggest going straight to IUI....im not the pro on this so i dont know

Do you have a male factor? We did 2 cycles of Clomid with no intention of doing IUI. That's odd that your doctor would tell you no, aren't you supposed to be the patient and able to tell the doctor how aggressive you want to be???

I was going to ask this too. I did one month of Clomid and BDing at O time, then moved onto IUI. But we just found out we also have a male factor, so if this cycle does not work, it looks like we're onto IVF

I'm 36 and this is my first cycle with clomid. Apparently the assumption (on my part) was that they stimulate my folicle and tell me when I should start BDing. However, the assumption on the doctor's part was that we'd like to give ourselves the best odds, so this morning I had IUI. The way I figure whatever gets DH's guys there if fine with me. I didnt really consider it invasive per se...was just like getting a pap. And we will be BDing for the next three day to "shake things up."

plus please let me know who your dr, RE or just gyno prescribed the clomid...
i may switch b/c i feel i am not being listened to.
and yes all our tests are 100% fine. no male factor or anything. all AOK. so i feel clomid may do the trick.. if not (after a couple cycles..) then i will do IUI. i am just very conservative (for some reason)... TIA

one more thing, my dr said,,,, why will u need clomid if u ovulating regularly?
so u only take clomid if u r NOT ovulating? I thought it just released more eggs!!! aahhhhhhhhh
so damn confusing!

I ovulate naturally but I have one blocked tube - so my RE put me on clomid to increase the odds that I would release at least one egg from the unblocked side.
I told him that I wanted to be aggressive and he agreed - so I did clomid with IUI.
Is age a factor? Otherwise I don't know why your RE would over-ride your request.
