Closed w/ vendor rave

Finally!!!! I have been so busy and it seems that there is never enough hours in the day for everything I feel I always have to do.

We finally closed and I submitted our testimonial to LIF for our real estate attorney, Wendi Lindsey.

Everyone who has worked with Wendi has raved about her, and you can now add us to that list. I have never just rolled the dice with anyone I have ever went to for a service; I always need a lot of positive feedback from people who have used them, and it seemed everyone on here loved Wendi.

We knew our attorney would be an important part of our home buying process, and we knew wanted someone who was patient and wouldn't mind being harassed by our millions of questions and we wanted someone who was a tough cookie and who would be honest and sugarcoat anything. Wendi was our answer. She always was available to answer our questions, even on the weekends. You feel so vulnerable when buying a house for the first time and it's hard to trust anyone but we felt so secure with Wendi on our side. She is so professional and on top of everything. We can't say enough good about her.


We used Continental Home Loans in Melville, as I heard good things from them from here, too. I think I recall Beth saying she was always pleased with them. It was so helpful to have everything under one roof and they always got back to us right away. Our mortgage guy even would answer my blackberry emails on the weekend. They never requested things over and over again, like I have heard from other people who went with different lenders, and they never lost anything. Continental always seemed to be in touch with Wendi and they were always on the same page, so it seemed helpful.

Our inspector was Bill Smith, who is a sweetheart. I've seen other inspection reports, and ours was better than what I've seen. He gave us an entire binder with tabs for each section of the house,
a fully detailed report, colored pictures of potential issues, suggestions on what we ourselves could fix and what we'd have to buy to fix it, or what he would recommend a professional fix, a home guide, ect.

Although I NEVER want to buy another house again - in fact, I plan on just dying in this house just because it is such a long and emotional process of looking for a home, negotiating a price, working out the kinks, moving, etc, but if I had to do it all over again, I'd have Wendi and Continental again, along with Bill Smith.

I really learned that it so important to have a great team behind you during this whole process. Your team can either make your whole experience easier and stress-free or make it hell. I have all the normal stressors of a buyer but I know I had it really good with my team. We feel really lucky.

So, thanks again to everyone who recommended Wendi Lindsey!!! She also does wills and things of that nature, so we will be back to her.
