Closest LIRR Station to the LIE
I think i asked this last year... but i don't remember the answer.. 
My boss lives in CT, but they rent a house in the hamptons for the summer. His wife will be driving out there on Thursday, and he'll take the train from Manhattan and meet her somewhere on the road. She'll be taking the LIE obviously.. Which train station can she pick him up at that is fairly close to the LIE?
I was thinking Manhasset? Anywhere further out east where the LIE runs super close to the LIRR station?

Why not take the train to the town they are staying in?? I am not sure where they are staying, but the train station is really accessible in Southampton and East Hampton.

Ronkonkoma would def. be there best bet. It is right off the LIE and much further east than the other stations.

If she wanted to pick him up in Nassau (for more togetherness  ) I think Roslyn is also pretty close to the LIE, but you do have to change trains at Jamaica.

I don't think he wants her to have to drive all the way out there alone with 3 kids under 6 and 2 dogs..lol

it's REALLY easy. take the 106/107 exit south off the LIE. (i am fairly sure it's exit 41.) the road will fork right at broadway mall, she needs to take the right fork to stay on 106. the train station will be just ahead.
ETA: to change the fork - sorry i have preggo brain!!

Take 106/107 South.
There will be a fork just at the Broadway Mall. 107/106 split into 107 and 106. Take the "RIGHT" fork ...106. Train station is on the right. There is a big parking lot.

If you go to the scheduled section of www.lirr.org you can click on the map of the train station and get directions. HTH
