Clothes for newborn - 3months
Hi. I'm 30 weeks pregnant and trying to make sure I have enough and the right kind of clothing. Can any of you mommies help me out?
Here's what I have . . .
7 newborn t-shirts (the kind that snap on the side so they don't hurt the belly button) 14 onsies (2 newborn and 12 three-month) 3 pairs of pants 2 one-piece outfits (stretchies, footies, coveralls -- I don't know what these are really called) 3 sleepgowns (2 of these "convert" to one-piece pant-type coveralls, but they don't have feet)
I figure the one-piece stretchies are the most useful things, especially when they are little, so I figured I'd go buy some more. Any opinions on if I already have enough???
TIA

Re: Clothes for newborn - 3months
Just keep in mind that they grow sooooo fast. My DS is only 2 months and he went into 3-6 month clothes 2 weeks ago.

Yes, they grow out of them VERY fast. My BF's daughter was only in 0-3 for a few weeks.
Even my lil ones (barely 5 lbs and 6 lbs) at birth were in newborn for only a couple of weeks. Some babies are even too big for newborn at birth.

ITA. The footies have been my favorite thing to put him in. I really didn't use very many onesies at all because it was too cold when he was born. I use them more now because its warmer (but he's already in 3-6 month size- since he was 8 wks old).
Also while I prefer the footies, I do find that I have gotten a longer period of use out of the one piece outfits w/o the feet.

I would hesitate to buy too much before you have the baby. If you have a big baby, they may not fit in any of the items. I think what you already have is PLENTY.
I had VERY little clothing before giving birth - just some onsies. After she was born we were inundated with gifts of outfits, and she never even got to wear them all before the season changed.

and on the flip side, my DD is still wearing newborn and 0-3 months and she is 14 weeks!

Re: Clothes for newborn - 3months
My little one is 6 weeks and just growing out of some newborn things....but not quite fitting into 3 month clothing. It all depends on the baby, so there's really no way of knowing until he/she arrives! I would stay away from the t-shirts, personally....they ride up and never stay where they're supposed to...onsies are much more convenient and they don't bother the stump.

Me too. DS is 11 weeks old and I just put away 3 newborn footies.
Don't go nuts, I found a lot of people would bring clothing when they stopped by to visit just after he was born.
