Clothing Advice

I know that most babies don't stay in NB clothes for that long but how many outfits did you get in each size? I started shopping yesterday with my Mom and I just wanted to get an average amount (not go crazy) but I don't want to have to wash clothes over and over again in a day to so that Chat Icon has something to wear all day long!!

Can you all give me a ballpark of the #'s of clothing you bought in each size.....including onzies and everything??

Thanks so much!!!Chat Icon

Re: Clothing Advice

my dd was in NB for awhile.. The sono tech told me DD was going to be big.. she was 7lbs 5ozs 19" long.. and NB was the perfect size for her. I had none b/c didnt expect i would need them, so dh had to run to BRU when we got her home and buy stuff.

DD was born in sept/07 and for the first few months she was mostly in onesies and Pjs.

I got the bigger pack of onesies by gerber.. I bought a few packs of the onesie t-shirts b/c of umbilical cord, didnt start using reg. onesies until it fell off. I had a few packs of 0-3m b/c she was in that for awhile after she finally grew out of NB. Youll end up buying more regardless of how many you buy b/c of exploding spit up, diapers.

Re: Clothing Advice

I was planning to get about 10 outfits in the newborn size. Carter's has these really simple 5 packs. I was going to get one of those and get another 5 onesies and a few sleeping pouch things.

Re: Clothing Advice

We have about 10 NB outfits (and they a batch of PJs and onsies). I don't see baby dodge being in NB long, then we have a batch of 0-3 mos. I have a ton of 3-6 mos.

Re: Clothing Advice

i honestly can't remember how long DD#1 was in newborn clothing. she weighed 8 pounds when born, but dropped quite a bit and didn't regain her birth weight until about a month. she was also born in warmer weather.

DD#2 is predicted to be larger than DD#1. i have some cotton NB onesies from DD#1, 2 fleecy NB onesies, and a pack of long sleeve NB bodysuits. i have TONS of 0-3 outfits. nothing is washed. once she arrives i'll see what we need. worst case scenario i send my mom or DH out to get a few more fleecy onesies, best case scenario i'll just stick her in the 0-3 which may be a little big but manageable...

Re: Clothing Advice

I have 1 or 2 packs of newborn onesies and side snap shirts. I have a few newborn sleepers. Other than that, I don't have much in the newborn size. Most of the items I have are 0-3 months.

Is there a difference between newborn and 0-3 months?

I thought the newborn size WAS 0-3 months.

DS never fit into Newborn size clothing he was 7 lbs 14 oz at birth - he went down to 7 lbs 2 oz but he was 21 inches long and only fit into the 0-3 months because of his length.
I think Carters uses these sizes:

Premie is 0 - 5 lbs
Newborn is 5 - 7 lbs
0 to 3 months is 7 - 11 lbs
