Clothing size question...

Cailen is mostly wearing newborn stuff at this point - he is 2 weeks old, and last time he was weighed he weighed 6 lbs 13 oz... that was 2 days after we came home from the hospital, so I am sure he weighs more than that now because he has really filled out - maybe about 7 lbs at this point. At the hospital he was 20 in long, and I am sure he grew a bit since then as well...

I am having him wear his newborn stuff, and 0-3 months. I just began putting him in some 3 mt clothes as well - they are big on him, but not swimming. Obviously, the bulk of the clothes I have for him go up to 3 months (and then I have stuff that are 3-6 mts, 6-9, etc - but not as much...)

From your experiences if you have had children born around his weight - how long will he wear his newborn stuff? When will he really be wearing solely 3 mt stuff? I am trying to make sure he gets thru everything so his clothes don't go to waste...

Also, when can I anticipate he would wear the 3-6 and 6 mt stuff? I know every child is different, but if you can give me some kind of understanding, that would be helpful...

my dd is a peanut too - we bourght her home at 6 lbs 5 oz...she was born at 6 lbs 14 oz....she has her own metabolism right now and eats like a champ but still fits into her 0-3 although now she is starting to wear some of the 3-6 mos and she is going to be 7 months on sunday! its hard to predict....i don't think you can yet!

Well way back...my son was born at 6lbs 11oz he came home from the hospital at 6lbs 1 oz. He was very true to size you probably will get a few more weeks out of his newborn stuff and plenty out of 0-3 months. My son was born in February and I'm pretty sure he got to use 3-6 months clothes until the summer was over.

DS was born in 4/13 and was 8lbs and was still in 0-3 months for the summer if it was seperates. For sleeps or rompers he was in 3-6 because he has a long torso. My best bet would be that he will be in 3-6 months towards the end of the summer. He is still to young to tell because he will probably have 2 or 3 grow spurts. Newborn sleepys he was in for a month and the 0-3 for about 6 or 7 weeks.

my dd was born 7 pounds 1 ozs and 20 inches. she wore newborn for at least a month. right now at 4 months she is between 0-3 months and 3-6 months.

Kerri was 6lbs 7oz at birth and has been true to form...always fit into 0-3 till 3 months...some till 4 months...same with all the other sizes...worn till the last month and some a bit after

my son was 6 lbs 8 oz at birth and he has always run true to size. So at 3 months old he started to fit the 3-6 month size and wor that to close to 6 months.

DD was born at 6lbs 11oz & 20in and has been pretty true to size. So she wore 0-3 unitl she was 3 mo and has been wearing 3-6 mo since she turned 3 months. As of her 4 month appt she was in 50th percentile for weight but had a growth spurt and is in the 75th percentile for height so her size may start to change.

DD was born 7lbs 8 oz and 21 inches long.

She wore Carters NB for about 4 weeks, then went into Childrens Place, Gap and Old Navy 0 - 3, Carters 3 for about 2 - 3 weeks.

A little before 4 months she was in 3 - 6 months in most brands, Carter's 6, and 6 - 9 months in feety pj's .

My DD is growing fast and is very tall. At 4 1/2 months the 3 - 6 month clothing fits everywhere but the length, they are just too short. I can get away with it with pants, but feety pj's those I had to go up to 6-9 months(she couldn't straighten her legs).

Every baby really is different!!!

Both of my kids (6lbs 7oz & 7lb 12 oz) were true to size.

At 3 months, they could get away with wearing 0-3 months but 3-6 months wasn't so tight. They would be large in the beginning but every 3 months, I was changing the drawers around.

DD was born teeny- under 6 pounds.
She stayed in newborn and 0-3, and straight 3 months for a while- I would say for about 3 months or so- she was born end of October and wore those until about end of January..
that's when things started to speed up.
She's going to be 6 months on the 28th and she is wearing Carter's 9 month clothing already! at this point, I just by everything 12 months and up!!!!

The gerbers onesies- which I think run SUPER small- she is wearing the 18 and 24 month sizes!!!!!

My DD was the same size and she wore newborn stuff for about a month and then moved into the 0-3 for the next month or so. Then she exploded- she is only 3 1/2 months and now wears 3-6 and 6 month stuff. This all changed this week. I never thought she would fit into any of these clothes so soon.

Matthew has been wearing 9 month sclothing...especially in Carter's
He was 5 pounds and 13 ozs. at birth.
I have been buying 12 months clothes too.
I also find the Gerber onesies very SMALL!!!

Christopher is true to size, although he still fits in some 3-6 months clothes and he is 7 months.

DD turned out to be true to size so she didn't wear her 3 mos clothes until she was 3 mos and so on and so on. sometimes even a little later on the pants b/c she is petite. So at 10 mos she's still wearing 6-9 mos stuff with the occasional 12 mos thing fitting though big.

Luca was born 7lbs11oz and has grown like a weed ever since. He's been a couple weeks ahead of his sizes. Little Me brand tends to run a little small so they didn't last too long, Carters runs a little bigger.
