CLothing sizing question

I want to get my niece a shirt that says Im the Big Cousin for Xmas.
She is 4 years old but wears a 6T (Im 5'11 and my sister is 5'9) I cannot find 4T in the shirt I want, just a childs small. Are they almost the same size? It doesnt matter if its too big on her

my dd is a size 4t or 5t and she can get away with wearing a childs size small. i think it will be fine.
