Co-Op/Condo owners
Did you have to put 10% or 20% down?? Is it still like that now with the way the market is??

We had to put down 20%. The requirements may be different within each development though.

We put down 10%, but when I was looking around at different banks, a lot wanted 20% for condos now.

Totally depends on the particular co-op. Some require 10%. Some require 20%. Some don't care.

Then the fun starts when you have to get the board 100 copies of all of your financial information!
But most coops in Great Neck want to see 20% down. At least that was our experience when we were looking.

We're in Whitestone and our building wanted 20% but was find with 10% down. DOwnside of that is PMI.
