Coach - Store - to - Outlet
does anyone know how long coach keeps their products on their shelves before sending them to the outlets?
i love love love the new python collection and want to get a bag but hate to pay store prices.

No idea....but I *think* it's from season to season. I'm in love with one of the new ones from the Madison collection but I refuse to pay retail price. I'll get it next year

It depends. They have some bags that seem to go straight to the outlet and others that never make it there at all.

i thought someone once told me that they design two totally separate lines - one for retail and one for the outlets?

Some might be made specifically for retail or specifically for the outlets, but I've definitely seen bags at the retail stores later sold at the outlets. Quite a few actually.

My cousin worked for coach up until very recently...when the items are discontinued, they go on "delete" and are sent to the outlets. B/w her employee discount and first crack at the "delete" items, she got bags for cheap! They may also make bags specifically for outlets, but I'm not sure.

That's a good question - I actually got a bag at the outlets that was still being sold in stores, and I remember I asked if it was damaged in any way (it wasn't) but I never thought to ask why it was there. I would wait a few weeks and check it out, who knows? Also, if for some reason you are ever in Atlantic City, the Coach outlet there is just as good if not better as the one in Riverhead.
