Colace/Constipation LATE in pregnancy?
So, I've been taking Colace all along to take charge of the constipation issue.
Last week (week 36), I decided to stop taking it since I kept reading that you get "softer" results later in the pregnancy and figured I don't need it anymore. PLUS - one of my fears is "pooping" when I'm pushing during delivery. So, I stopped.
Well, now I'm constipated! What the heck?? I know it's not good to be constipated this late in the game... I think it can slow down labor.
Should I keep taking the colace, ya think? I don't see my doc 'til Thursday... maybe I should just call and ask?
What are you doing late in the game?

I would keep taking it. I have been pretty regular lately, which is unusual for me...maybe my body is preparing for labor. I didn't have incidents with my first labor, crossing my fingers that I am lucky again.

Keep taking the Colace- the last thing you want is to be constipated and straining yourself.
If you're going to poop on the table, it's going to happen whether you're taking Colace or not.
