Cold pasta salad dressing..
I made chicken, tortellini and am adding red peppers.
I want to make a dressing but not italian. Oil and vinegar seem to be missing something. Dont want anything creamy.
How should I make a dressing to put on it. Its a cold salad.

1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard seed
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
put into a jar & shake!

I usually make the good season mix with balsamic vinegar.

When I make tortellini and broccoli salad I just use olive oil, garlic, black pepper and parmesan cheese.

That is what I do -- I use the Balasmic Flavored packet with Balasmic Vinegar!

I was just going to post and ask how much dressing to pasta...if I were using Italian dressing, would it be 8oz. of dressing to 1 lb. of pasts or would I use 16 oz. of dressing?
