Cold weather clothes
I live in the Hudson Valley so it's starting to feel very wintry up here. I absolutely hate being cold but all the warm clothes I find in stores make me look like a lumberjack's wife!
Where do you shop, what do you buy to dress warmly but stylishly in the winter???

Re: Cold weather clothes
I am from the Hudson Valley too and my family still lives there.
My sister and I both like places like TJ Maxx/Marshalls and H&M.
She actually is really big into thrifting, and I get a lot of my sweaters from her finds.
Both of us are into layering during the cold months.
I tend to wear a sweater or a hoodie with a puffer vest on the weekends and a classic style pea coat during the week for work when it starts to get really chilly or if I'm going out someplace for dinner.
Pants anything goes but I have to have some kind of warm boot on my feet.

Re: Cold weather clothes
I like layering Under Armor pieces (or similar type items) under sweaters or other shirts. They're thin/light enough that it doesn't add a lot of bulk.
And I use lightweight cashmere/wool wraps as a scarf with my coat, but I'm also able to use them as a wrap when indoors.
I'll wear UA under jeans if it's super cold or I'm going to be outdoors in below freezing weather for a considerable amount of time, but for normal cold weather, my legs don't seem to be bothered by the cold.

Re: Cold weather clothes
And this is why I freeze all winter. I will not wear bulk. I'd rather just be cold and still look good!

This is a great idea!! I am always cold and never thought to do that.

Cold weather clothes
I just layer with tanks and tees. I will wear short sleeves in the winter but I'm fine as long as I have another layer on my stomach.

This is me too for the most part. I like the long plain cotton tanks from Old Navy (advertised as jersey tamis on the site) in plain colors like black and dark gray.
Believe it or not they wash very well too. I have some that I wear daily that are several seasons old.
I also like that they cover my butt for that extra layer if I am wearing something like yoga pants to run around in on the weekend (not leggings ).
