Collecting unemployment?

Although I dont have hard evidence, I suspect I might be layed off. I've never been on unemployment and dont know the first thing about it. Can someone enlighten me?

I was about to post the link but Sasha got it..Chat Icon

Jenn...you were there for me when I needed you and I am so there for you! Chat Icon If you have a resume I can forward I will send it to everyone and I can look here internally as well...we have an office in NYC and Westbury.

If you do get laid off...which I hope doesn't happen...you should get a severance package based on your time there.

Re: Collecting unemployment?

Ya, I really hope I'm wrong too. But I got a new boss and because of the actions of the rest of my team, it would be wise for him to start clean and resource out our whole department for a lot cheaper. Chat Icon
I stay for the benefits, but honestly I've proven time and time again how I can excel, but was never given the opportunity to advance. Im kind of looking at it as an opportunity to find something else while cashing in on what I hope will be a good severance package.
My only worry is not finding anything and relying on DH to pay for everything. I wouldnt want to put that kind of stress on him.

When I worked at a seasonal job I was able to collect in the winter. It was really easy- you could do the whole thing online. They also offer helo finding another job if you need it. Good luckChat Icon

Filing is pretty easy, however now they don't send out checks. They give you a debit card type thing, and if you want the cash, you have to get a chase bank and do it. Kinda annoying.

I wish you the best of luckChat Icon
