I am thinking of calling him to do my home inspection but when I was on his website, they list many different things that they inspect. What do they include in a basic home inspection? For example, are termite, thermal imaging, lead, mold, radon all extras that can be added on?

I've been present at many home inspections that Tony has done. He is certified to do the termite inspection as well as the home inspection. Buyers all seem to like Tony, and are happy with his inspection. He comes highly recommended on this site. He does a thorough job and explains things to the buyers in a way they understand.

Other testing like lead paint, radon, mold would never be included in a standard home inspection. There is no radon on Long Island, so I can't imagine a circumstance in which that would be necessary. I've only had a client do lead paint testing once... it's usually not necessary because even in an older home (built prior to 1978), any lead paint that was used is encapsulated under newer paint and not exposed or peeling. Most people will do a general home inspection and termite inspection, and then if any red flags arise (mold, asbestos, etc.), further investigation can be done at a later date.

Some of the inspectors do thermal imaging as a matter of course, but most don't. I know Terry from Long Island Home Inspection always has a thermal imaging gun/tool thing that he uses. Here is his website:

Actually, Tony may do the thermal imaging, too. I'm just not recalling offhand. You can always call and ask. Or I'm sure someone on here knows and will chime in.

Terry does a good, thorough inspection. He actually climbs up on the roof with a ladder (not all inspectors do), he has all of the technology. My clients seem to like him. He has not as talkative as Tony is throughout the inspection, but he does a good job.

I think Terry's rates may be slightly lower than average, if I recall (and he does a termite inspection, too).

I used Tony...i dont remember exactly what was included but HE ROCKS!!! he took his time and explained everything to me. he was right about everything and didnt miss anything. HIGHLY recommend him

Just used tony two weeks ago for current house ... And week before that for a house that failed miserably ... Both times AMAZING -very thorough and honest .... I wouldn't use anyone else

I am a real estate agent who personally used Tony for my purchase

I recommend him to all my clients-

Tony has all the gadgets but more importably the experience to interpret the data
