come see my new little girl edit with link to more pics
she was a rescue. and yes i know i will get flammed because it's only been a week but i went to just look and she was not going to be there much longer so i took her home and she is very good sooo far and my boo boo is in love with her!!!! she is about 1 to 2 years old schipperke/lab mix(so they think at the pound) she is settling in very very good!!! still debating on a name, she was called penny there and kryssy likes tinkerbell so please vote and tell us what you think goes good with her. thanks

Bailey is cute. So is Hennessy, Abby or Lola.

She is def too big for Tinkerbell...Penny is ok.

thanks guys! she is a not all that big though.. the pic is not very accurate. she has a head that looks like a small grey hound and her legs are as skinny as boo boo's and she has a chubby belly . she is not really responding to penny. ans she was not there more then a week so they say. ok keep the names coming!!!!!! love some of them so far

Does the shelter have any idea what her "old" name used to be?? In other words...was she "abandoned" by an owner that had another name for her, but they decided to use "Penny" ?
In all of my years of rescuing....I found that any dog (or cat) will respond to whatever you decide after about a month. Pavlov's law is an AMAZING thing :)
I personally don't think she looks like a Tinkerbell....but, ya know what...if Krissy likes it--then maybe you should just go with it. "Tink" for short is a cool name.
I'm not so fond of the "Penny"....and if she's not responding to it just yet...it won't be hard to drop. If she were copper in color...I might buy it....but it doesn't quite fit her. (& I've "named" over 80 dogs...lol)
You should just go with your gut instinct. You have her by your side and know her personality the best. That's the ONLY way to know for sure. :)

I would never buy a pet from anywhere. the only pet i every had that was bought was through a cousin who was a rottie breeder and she gave us him for pennies and was a best of show at westminster(sp) all of my others have been either a stray that was dropped off at my front door(yes people really use to do this to me when i was younger) but that's a whole other story or that i found.
They (the shelter) did not know her name from before. she was dropped off as a stray. so they just named her that.
as for those names now i am soooo confussed on what to name her.  they are all great names!!! ok i will take all these names in and then maybe tomorrow i will make a post just for a vote with names that just might work and take it from there. there was one more name i thought of and that was Roxy , but that is my girlfriends dog's name and i don't want her thinking i stole it from her. lol thanks again guys!

ETA: I would keep Penny as her name. If thats what she is used to be called, I'd keep it! She may get confused if you change it. Beside, Penny goes good with her!

hmmmm a name....
well, i think Penny is okay, but i dont think she looks like one. Tinkerbell makes me think of my Tinkerbell so i dont think she looks like one either.

As far as names I am not in love with Tinkerbell...but if you want a Disney theme I like Jasmine or Belle for her.
I also like Raven (some other posters mentioned), and Buca (like black Sambuca ...I always have to work the liqour in somehow).

i am loving all these names!!! great what am i going to do hehe about the liqour names ! hehe ok i am going in a little make a new post with 6 names to chose from and then hopefully by tonight she will have a name!!! thanks again guys
