Coming Home Outfit for EDD Girls around 7/1
This is my first child and I want to go today and buy him a coming home outfit. I have no idea what is proper for a baby to wear..
Do I buy him a cute newborn summer outfit or do I put him in a light weight pajama with the booties?
I don't know if I am supposed to have his skin completely covered neck down or can he have his calves and toes uncovered?
If you bought your outfit already, can you please share a pic if you have one..
Thanks

Babies can pretty much regulate their own temp by the time they leave the hospital-except for their heads.
I bought a pretty carters onsie for to wear home. My section is sched for 7/6
It's july, I am sure it will be at least 80 degrees and you don't want to overheat baby. I will prob swipe a blanket from the hospital for the car ride home in the a/c.

I am due 6/28 and am having a girl, so I don't know if this will help you. I am bringing layers. I have a sleeveless sundress for her, but am bringing a 3/4 sleeve sweater and socks to keep her warm if I feel that it is too cold for the sundress.

I cannot find a picture of the same exact outfit that I have in my hospital bag, but it is very similar to this one:

Jola, these are crappy pics of what Andy wore home last year, he was born 6/27. I got it in the children's place, it was a polo shirt and shortalls. We just put socks on him and kept a recieving blanket on him in the car. I got size 0-3 months, it was huge on him and he was 8lbs 1oz when born.
In the hosptial waiting for my doctor to discharge me
When we got home, Sarah wasn't too sure yet about him.

Hi Cathy, How is everything? Thanks for the reply..
So Andy weighed about what my little guy is going to weight and 0-3 was too big. Should I get the newborn size? I think I'll maybe buy both just in case, lol..
I can't believe my time is around the corner..

I am due in Aug. and am having the same concern with choosing an outfit bc of the weather. I bought this recently from the Gap and am thinking that I may bring him home in it...it looks so comfy and I think that it will be good for his umbilical cord... Image Attachment(s):

Re: Coming Home Outfit for EDD Girls around 7/1
Just to let you know, my son was 8 lbs 5 oz, so everyone assumed he would wear 0-3 months (he left the hospital at 8 lbs 3 oz). 0-3 was literally swimming on him. Luckily, I had a newborn outfit with me, which was still big on him, but better than the 0-3. So I would suggest getting one of each size!

Re: Coming Home Outfit for EDD Girls around 7/1
my DS fit perfectly into a 0-3 outfit on the way home. He was big though.
I have a short-sleeved, long pants outfit this time with matching hat and socks. In 0-3 as well.
