Coming off the pill...

Hi Everyone! I was wondering if someone could help me.

I am currently on the pill, and I have been on for about 8 or 9 years. I recently changed pills (September I switched from Yaz to Lo Estrin).

I understand that sometimes you skip a period or have a light period on the pill, however, I skipped this month entirely, and are experiencing hot flashes, night sweats, constant fatigue and not feeling myself. I took a P-test, which came out negative, but now I'm wondering if my hormones are out of wack.

Should I come off the pill? My husband and I were planning on trying to start a family this summer, but with the way I am feeling, I think my pill is royally screwing something up. Also, on both sides of my family, diabetes and anemia are common as well as infertitliy. I already called my doctor and I am wtg to hear back from her. I want to make sure things are running smoothly. What should I ask her as far as hormones are concerned? Should I ask for an appointment for blood work? I'm really nervous bc I never feel like this. What do you think?

Also, when you come off the pill,how are your periods? Are they normal, every 28 days or will they be irregular?

hey i think you should try posting this on the TTC board! lots of similar questions have been posted

for me after i went off the pill my cycles have been extra long...i dont know if its the pill or if the issues i had before going on the pill.

i didnt experience any changes in the way i felt...just the long cycles.

I would tell her how you've been feeling since the switch and that you don't like it.

Lo Estrin 24 is commonly known for light/no periods.

Also, tell her you're thinking of TTC come this summer. She'll prob want to see you for a pre-conception visit and start you on pre natals.
