I have lived in Commack for going on 3 years. The schools are great; almost every area is close to a parkway or LIE; people are very involved in the community; very low crime rate. For me, the biggest con is that I am used to living in areas with a "village" - Huntington, Babylon, etc and I miss that. Also, I feel like there is always traffic congestion, especially on Jericho Tpk & Commack Rd.

I live in smithtown but on the commack border. Love the area. I am so happy in the schools so far (ds is only in 1st) love my neighborhood, all the people I have met., love that we are close to everything, but not TOO close, lol.
I agree the only con to me is the traffic, but really, thats Long Island!
ETA: We have lived here 7 years although DH grew up nearby!

Great area and very good schools. The taxes are very high, though.
