Comment on pregnancy
I read the PG board a lot. I have been around a lot of babies and have lots of friends who are PG. So I like to know what they are going through.
I know what a mucus plug is. I know that when women loose the mucus plug it can be a bit gross. Natural. Cool.
But why call it "The bloody show?". Why not say "I lost my mucus plug".
They say it all the time: 'I just had my bloody show".
Just weird.

I've heard that term a few times.
I don't know what it means, but from my point of view, I visualize a Gwar concert when I hear it.

Re: Comment on pregnancy
Sorry to crash, I still read this board
For me, losing the mucus plug & having the bloody show were two totally different things that didn't happen at the same time.
just to add & sorry if TMI: The mucus plus was just that, a huge glob of mucus with a bit of stringy blood in it. The bloody show looked like a massacre, blood EVERYWHERE. Happened far apart time wise.

Yep. And I did not experience both, so I bet not everyone else does, either.

They can happen simultaneously, but not always. So for some it is, for some it isnt. Mucus plug loss can happen weeks before labor, bloody show generally means labor is imminent.

I never called that at all. I called it what it is, a mucous plug. And I never told anyone about other than the doctor lol

Crashing....the mucous plug is the bloody show. Same thing. I was a l&d nurse for many years and pending on the nurse they would use either term. I personally say mucous plug.
