Re: Pregnancy Weight Gain - Rude Comment
This is very rude! What makes it worse is that you need to be professional with him and can't really tell him off. Did you tell him you just had a baby?
What an azzzz. Don't let it get to you, I'm sure you look great!

Well Deb, having seen you in person the other day, I think you look fabulous! How did you respond to that S.O.B? How stupid/ignorant can someone be?

Aw Debbie ...I would have punched him. Is he overweight? You could have used the line from SATC "I just had a baby. What is your excuse?"

Re: Pregnancy Weight Gain - Rude Comment
I would chalk it up to a cultural thing.
You're hot. You know you're hot. Maybe tell him to stop focusing on your body & start working.

Re: Pregnancy Weight Gain - Rude Comment
Please, don't be upset-- I am pretty sure that in that culture to say that a woman got fatter is a compliment! They don't like skinny, they like their woman with some meat on her bones!

Re: Pregnancy Weight Gain - Rude Comment
Wow, how extremely rude! Bad enough he made any mention of your figure, but can you at least put it a little nicer than saying you got fatter???
What an idiot!!!! You are gorgeous and only had a baby a few months ago!

Re: Pregnancy Weight Gain - Rude Comment
It is terrible!!! I had a few doozies of my own.
Not to stick up for anyone, but maybe it's a cultural thing. I was at the library with Ava a few weeks ago and we ran into a Mom from daycare who happens to be from Turkey. When I told her I was pg, she said "I can really see it, your face is much heavier."
My Mother-in-law is from another country as well, and she says a lot of things that I would never say. My Mother says- maybe it's sort of a compliment.
I don't think that other culture are as sensitive to weight as we Americans are.
Still sux when people make comments.

Re: Pregnancy Weight Gain - Rude Comment
Aww, I'm sorry. It ***** to hear but I'm pretty sure he meant it as a compliment. If anything, to him you look better now than when he saw you last time. Don't feel bad.

Re: Pregnancy Weight Gain - Rude Comment
That would really upset me.
I am 5 lbs above my pre pregnancy weight, and my grandmother informed me in Florida that I;m not at the weight I want to be yet.
Thanks Gma It depressed me for the rest of the trip....

Re: Pregnancy Weight Gain - Rude Comment
yeah... one of my patients the other day was like, "Dr. S, looks like you still have a ways to go with the weight... but don't worry, it's ok".
would you EVER in a MILLION YEARS say that to anyone???
i almost fell out of my chair. i was to shocked to even say anything back.
