Communications with teacher -kindergarten
Dd started on Thursday! She seems to love it and I already love her teacher, so so far, so good.
I gave her a note on Friday about Amelia's lunch. Just wondering if I should put a note in her folder or hand it to the teacher?
Obviously this is a non-emergency, so I'm not calling the school or principal.

If you can hand it to her, even better. But putting it in the folder is usually fine.
But the best way for me is via email if it's not an emergency. Sometimes they don't check email until the end of the day.

We email with DS's teacher but I also put notes in his folder. DS gives it to her.

Re: Communications with teacher -kindergarten
Thanks.
I should have mentioned, they prefer notes,or calls, not emails. I think because there are so many students, it would be too much.
I'll put it in her folder, unless it's something that requires a conference.
Thanks again

I aways put notes in DS folder. Tet check them every morning as soon as the kids come in.

We can only put notes in their folders. DC take the bus, so we don't see the teachers, they don't have email, and I wouldn't want to try and call during the school day for a non-emergency. They always get the notes in the folders.

That is how the teacher asked the parents to communicate. The folder we bought as a school supply was for this purpose.

Re: Communications with teacher -kindergarten
On the first day of school I sent in a note with DS. They had mailed home a bunch of questions and forms so I typed out a response to the questions and then added a section about after school pick up and holiday absences. I included my phone number and my email address in the letter. DS's teacher sent me an email reply. I emailed her back a thank you note.
