Communion in April - party question..
We recently received our dd's communion date - which is April 19th.. I immediately said we have to book a restaurant for indoors because I feel like April weather can be 50/50. We had my older dd's at the house 2 years ago because she had a mid-may date and had a great day. So now my dd is asking to have the party at the house because she wants it to be "fun" - basically she wants to be able to run around and play like they did for my older dd's. But I am torn on canceling the restaurant because of the unpredictable weather. We have only about 35 people but would need to be able to be outside. Would you chance a home party in mid april? Has anyone had one around this time of year and had nice weather?
Thanks all!

April is the new March. It's never warm out. It snows as well I'd keep at a restaurant

April is usually a lot colder than most people "think" it is. If you really want to have it at home and be able to be outside, I'd rent a tent and outdoor heaters

Re: Communion in April - party question..
DD's birthday is 4/28 and we always have the party at the house with more than that number of people. It's always turned out fine. This past year was chillier than it has been so a lot of people stayed inside, but most of the kids were outside running around in the backyard. I'd cancel the restaurant and be ready with a tent for rain.

April can be chilly. I would keep it indoors at the restaurant.

Can you rent a tent with sides and get heaters? April is really unpredictable so I would probably stay at the restaurant but if she is really wanting a home party, maybe the tent and heater rental option would work.

Not to mention the thought of having to clean, set up, reheat or keep warm catered food, have tons of people running in and out and around my house, then clean up afterwards gives me hives. Always at a restaurant. Always.

Communion in April - party question..
My son’s birthday is later April. The weather is unpredictable. It can be 35 or 85 degrees. Luckily our house can fit a decent number of people so we always do a family party at our house.

Communion in April - party question..
April can have nice days. 2 years ago we had planned to celebrate my son's mid-April bday inside but ended up moving everything outside because it was a gorgeous warm day. But planning outside parties for any time of the year is taking a risk because theres always the possibility of rain, no matter how warm it is. Is renting a tent an option? Or can you have it at the restaurant and then invite guests to your home afterwards if it ends up being a nice day?
